Steve Dressel – firstname.lastname@example.org
Steve Dressel is a minister, lawyer, musician, educator, and consultant, originally from the South Side of Chicago. He studied in seminary, music and law school, and a variety of universities for graduate theology. Academically Steve studied most at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Illinois (at Urbana-Champaign). Steve practiced law, primarily for people who are poor, at 2 neighborhood legal clinics in Chicago and served as a consultant to Pro Bono Programs across the US for the American Bar Association.
He transitioned from this legal ministry into campus ministry and became a certified campus minister, helping students grow their faith on campuses in Quincy, IL and Madison, WI. For 11 recent years, Steve served as the Director of Lifelong Faith Formation and Music Ministry at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee, IA.
Steve has been connected to people at Heartland since members helped start St. Boniface’s El Salvador mission in 2004. Mutual interests and like-aged children linked him regularly for many years with Heartland’s former Pastor. He enjoys learning and sharing life and faith ideas, and connecting others to their roots of faith and to the lived faith of others. Together we build a strong faith community, widening the circle and weave our faith lives with the lives of others.
Steve lives in Waukee with his spouse Donna and 3 children: Maggie (22), Peter (19), and Kate (14). The older 2 study at the University of Iowa, and the youngest just started 9th grade in the Waukee schools (Timberline). Steve remains active in pursuit of healthy endeavors – exercising regularly, playing racquetball, bicycling (including RAGBRAI), running, swimming and rock climbing. He also serves currently as the part-time Director of Alternative Worship (Music) for Windsor Heights Lutheran Church.
